In recent years, there has been increased focus on design that reflects how people naturally interact with objects, spaces, buildings, or interfaces. The profession has evolved rapidly, introducing new terminology and problem-solving approaches. Design, when properly understood and integrated, can offer significant business contributions and returns on investment.
Yet, "design" is still often misunderstood, viewed as mere decoration. Paola
Antonelli highlights this: “Good design combines technology, cognitive science, human need, and beauty to create what the world didn’t know it was missing.”
Design is as much art as it is science, and although it’s become fashionable, the rise of apps like Canva and Pinterest has led many to claim the title of designer without the necessary skill set.
